Back to School Bash

The 2023 Back to School Bash is sponsored by the Lake County Department of Job & Family Services and the Lake County Family and Children First Council.  The event is being held Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Harvey High School, 200 W Walnut Ave, Painesville and is open to ALL Lake County children.  Lice checks, haircuts, clothing, dental services, vision screenings, sports screenings, immunizations, family photos, books, and community resources will be offered to students at no cost.  Breakfast and lunch will also be provided to families attending the event.  For more information on this event and ways you can help, click on the flyers below:

Mentor Schools Transportation Department

Mentor Schools Childcare Provider Form

 
A Childcare Provider form must be completed each school year if you need your student(s) transported to/from a Board approved daycare for your school.  This also includes students needing to attend a private daycare such as with a relative, neighbor, etc.  We will only transport to/from the individual daycare in your school area and it must be the same for every day of the week.  
 
A  list of board-approved daycares and the Childcare Provider form can be accessed by going to our website, www.mentorschools.net.; click on About Our District, Transportation Department, then Childcare Provider Information.  This year the form will be available through Infinite Campus and will not require you to print and send in a form. We hope this will make the process easier for families. The forms will be available the second week of JuneThe deadline to submit a Childcare Provider form in order to assign your student a bus for the first day of school is July 15, 2023.   All forms submitted after this date may take up to 10 business days after the start of school to assign busing.

Mentor Cardinal Youth Football Association

As a member of the Great Lakes Youth Football League, the Mentor Cardinal Youth Football Association's mission is to promote the development of leadership, sportsmanship, character, and athletic ability, while also nurturing youth fitness, volunteerism and a lifelong love of sport.  Kids Camp

Camp Kesem

Camp Kesem provides a FREE camp experience to children affected by a parent's cancer diagnosis.  It is run on college campuses across the nation and specifically in the Cleveland area, will be located on the campus of Case Western Reserve University in early August.  For one week, school-age children get to go have fun and just be a kid with activities such as hiking, messy wars, tie-dye, and everything in between!  For more information, click Camp Kesem

Mentor Youth Volleyball Camps

Registration is now open for the Mentor Youth Volleyball Camps to be held at Mentor High School on June 12th to 14th, 2023.  There will be one camp for those entering 7th and 8th grade and one camp for those entering Kindergarten through 6th grade.  No volleyball experience is necessary.  Come learn from the Mentor High School Volleyball coaching staff and players!  For questions, please email Coach Weaver at [email protected].  To register, please click Mentor Youth Volleyball Camps

NAMI

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

 
NAMI of Lake County is an organization of families, friends and individuals whose lives have been affected by mental illness.  Together, we advocate for better lives for those individuals who have a mental illness.  Listed below are some of the spring program offerings:
  • NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a class for adults with mental health conditions. The course is designed to encourage growth, healing and recovery among participants.
  • NAMI Basics is a class for parents, guardians and other family caregivers who provide care for youth (age 22 or younger) who are experiencing mental health symptoms.
  • NAMI Family-to-Family is a class for families, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. Designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA, it facilitates a better understanding of mental health conditions, increases coping skills and empowers participants to become advocates for their family members.
  • NAMI Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for any adult with a loved one who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition.  Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.  
  • NAMI Connection Groups offer a casual and relaxed approach to sharing the challenges and success of coping with mental illness.

Mentor Marlins Swim Team

Basketball ManMentor Cardinals Basketball Camps

Registration is now open for the Mentor Cardinals Basketball Camps from June 5th to the 9th for students entering grades 1 through 9.  Each camp will focus on age-appropriate skills such as shooting, ball-handling, footwork, passing, varsity drills, etc.  The registration fee includes a T-shirt, pizza daily, and a pass to all boys home games.  For more information and registration details, click on the flyer appropriate for your child's age group:

Mike Moran Basketball Camps

 

The Mike Moran Basketball Camps are the oldest running basketball camps in northern Ohio, with over 40 years of operation.  It has always been able to boast about having the most experienced staff of coaches.

Basketball Kids

The Moran camp has always stressed the teaching and drilling of fundamentals.  It is truly a camp designed for young players who want to improve their skills and be able to play competitive basketball.  The camp runs all day, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.  This camp is offered two separate weeks:  June 19-23 & June 26-30.  Click Mike Moran Basketball Camp for registration information or visit our website at MORANCAMPS.COM

 

Mentor Schools 23-24 Kindergarten Registration Information

Mentor Schools Kindergarten registration for the 2023-2024 school year will open on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 for children who will be five years of age on or before September 30, 2023.  Please click 2023-2024 Kindergarten Registration Information  for important registration instructions and details as well as each elementary building's Kindergarten Meet and Greet date in May for those students who are registered by May 1, 2023.
